Hallo can i use a ps4 controller or i need to use a ps5 controller and what about 3rd party Controllers?

Yes you can use the PS4 last version without any problem. Haven’t idea the oldest PS4 controller.

I’m using now my PS4 pro controller for PS5 games and no problems at all.

maybe your joypad is not original
beloader work original ps4 joypad
and also you check if the data cable is good quality

i suggest you try plug ps5 joypad into beloader , to check if all work well
