I noticed that the L2 button remained pressed indefinitely, that's why it does no let me pass the start menu

I have the same problem L2 and R2 dont work. Just stays pressed. I have ensured the cable is installed correctly more than once. I dont know what is wrong. All other buttons work fine. Using BDM-030 kit with 030 controller.

After getting a replacement FT6-V3 cable and new black ribbon cable that connects the main Besavior unit to the controller board, my controller is working now. L2 and R2 are fine and adaptive triggers also work. I do not know what fixed it exactly unfortunately. I would recommend re-seating cables, blow onto gold contacts for the ribbon cables to ensure proper connections/no dust. I am using BDM-030 with the latest PS5 controller firmware and Besavior firmware. I use it on PC and it works fine and I assume it will work fine on PS5 too. There is definitely some problems with this kit though, I don't know if I can recommend it. Was a lot of stress to get this working and I am experienced with modding like this. There is very little information on the kit, if something goes wrong you have to find a solution on your own.

Just update firmware from the base firware. Im using latest 2023.07.04. Also, if you just installed the kit, just make sure that the stubs are inserted all the way in and even, then fully assemble the gamepad and just let it boot up. Triggers and stick may glitch at first. After a few hours the buttons magically start working properly. Don't forget to reser to factory settings after the update.

Having this problem too, I tried all the firmware and it still didn't pass L2. I'm also wondering If I'm supposed to reset to factory settings after an update do I do that while in self check mode or does it not matter?

Can you link the new cables you bought to get it to work?

If the gamepad does not pass the self-check, then you either have sticks on the Hall/TMR sensors or you have a defective board installed on the gamepad Battery. There may also be problems with the cables from the kit and their connection, but most likely these are the first 2 options. In the case of magnetic sticks, the problem can be solved if you install the standard ones, go through a self-check with them (while calibrating the L2 and R2 buttons) and only then reinstall the magnetic sticks. At the same time, the Learning function and the functionality for connecting third-party devices will not work correctly when controlling the movement of sticks. Because Besavior will not be able to calibrate itself to recalibrated sticks. The problem may be solved (I haven't tried it yet, but theoretically it could work) if you calibrate it not through the firmware of the gamepad, but by installing a calibration board.

thanks for the info, so does this mean if I install TMR sticks, then having this ribbon cable installed as well will be useless? at the moment I haven't soldered it in, because I don't really need it and would prefer not to mess with solder points, to have easier time when I'll need to swap original sticks to TMR.
